Potrero Hill, Whole Foods T-Shirt

This is the 4th Anniversary commemorative T-Sirt I designed for the Potrero Hill location of Whole Foods Market. A pleasure to with them on the design.

I drew inspiration from the San Francisco neighborhood the market serves, Potrero Hill. The compostion is based on their neighbor Anchor Steam labeling, the photo is one took from the top of the titular peak, the colors are a muted homage to the SF Giants, and the flowers are native blooming species to the hillside.

Very strange amazing to see hundreds of people wearing something you designed.

Spider-Man Webhead 2.0

My Spider-Man redesign for the Project: Rooftop redesign contest.
I chose to make mine a continuation of sorts of last years Spidey redesign.
That costume was based on what a 16 year old could cobble together with a budget of 500 bucks and a hobby bench. But this Peter Parker is the 26 year old Avenger, Future Foundation science adventurer with a decent job. He's been slinging webs in the 5 boroughs for a decade, and sewing his own costume the entire time. He's gotten really good at both, and this costume reflects that.
I wanted this to be first functional, then realistically constructed. So the man gets zippers, where he can reach them, that way he can get in and out of his costume without the aid of magic tech or assistant costumers. Navy blue is durable but elastic trampoline textile. The red patches are light "armor": nylon twill that cover squares of Impact foam, the kind used for bike helmets and ski suits, designed to absorb blunt trauma.
Spiderman, doesn't need bulletproofing, he dodges bullets, so the padding could in no way hinder his mobility. So no padding around the joints and bend points of the abdomen. It would be hard to tuck into those classic Spidey poses with padding in the way.
The helmet is stainless steel, lined with impact foam as well. The two extra eyes are the lenses of light intensifier tubes used to give his goggles night vision.
He has 4 zip pockets. The two on his thighs are under the impact foam and carry his smartphone and a leatherman all in one tool kit. The wrist pockets carry his web-fluid refill cartridges. The shooters themselves were designed to look a little more raygun tech. The "barrel" spins when in action.
The Shoes are styled after the Fila Skeletoes, designed supposedly for parkour runners to have a greater barefoot gait and thus more agile. Worn almost exclusively by science dorks like Peter.

Aquaman Redesign

My redesign of Arthur Curry for Project: Rooftop's Sea Change contest. Placed Tenth. W00t!

With this I just tried to remain as faithful to the classic look as possible while throwing in some little twists, and a really big A. The center "eye" of the A was inspired by pacific northwest tribal art and implies an all seeing eye of the King. The hood was meant to evoke medieval chain hoods, and improve on his streamlining. His harpoon was inspired by the old hook hand, which in turn inspired the Captain Ahab beard. Judge Tim of P:R, he no like the Chin Beard. But see there is another Justice Leaguer with a blond beard and mustaches. His name is Oliver Queen. I gave Orin the "Ahab" so that he could have a beard he could call his own. I also loved the idea of taking a famous fisherman look, and giving it to a fishy-man. That makes him the Anti-Gordon of Glouster.

Judge Rachel says that the hood looks like he pulled his shirt over his head. For this, I have no defense. "CORNHOOLIO!"
