The Black Smoke of Ghost Rider

It's always kinda bugged me. Y'know, that he rides a burning motorcycle from Hell, but never leaves a hint of smoke. Should hellfire burn cleaner than propane? I really don't think so.

Same thing always bugged me about the Human Torch, never thought about Ghost Rider though. And what exactly is the Torch burning anyway?

im fairly sure it doesn't actually burn unless you're a sinner, or was that just the penance stare, jeez it's been a long time since i read ghost rider, cool drawing by the way *wanders off to find lost comic book collection*
