Spider-Man Movie Reboot Costume Concept

Joe D from Secret Underground Headquarters decided to take matters into his own hands. No official challenge currently posted on Project Rooftop? We'll throw one of our own. His challenge: redesign Spider-Man for his upcoming movie reboot directed by Mark Webb.

He struck a cord with me and away my dumb mind went. Doesn't it know I'm incredibly busy trying to finish another book? A month of "spare time" later:

Spider-Man Movie Reboot Costume Concept

I have a lot to say about this design. But I'm tired. I'll post in depth on the matter soon, complete with sketches. For now lets just say it's meant to look like something that 16 year old Peter Parker could buy at his local sporting goods store using his $500 winnings from wrestling.

-Spyder Racing Ski Suit
-Fiberglass Goalie Mask
-511 BackPack
-Spyder Racing Goggles
-Tac Gloves
-Super Sculpey
-Sanding Block
-Primer
-Red Spray Enamel
-Black Enamel Hobby Paint
(Not pictured is the old Dremel and Superglue Peter already had from his time making Famous Movie Monster Models with his Uncle Ben )

Really amazing work. Hypsters might not dig it because they're so stuck in the books, but adapted properly, this would work well for a alternate universe movie or graphic novel. Super well thought out on your part with the addition of the images of the components of the costume and everything. This is a costume I would love to see in a book. Do a book!! haha

I like this Spider-Man version a lot, even more than the original one, but I would change its eyes because make it looks less dangerous than he really is.

I love the costume so much that i want to make one my self but I just have to ask, what did you do when it came to his shoes??? It was the only thing that you had left out when you were talking about the Costume Concept itself

Creative liberties. I imagined the ski suit had little padded footsies to fit into a ski-boot. Someone has to make them like that and if they don't then they ought to.

Not a bad job on the costume, but I say use black instead of blue (this is a reboot so they should make it darker), make the goggles darker so he dose not look like a kid from the paint ball arena, and ditch the backpack then you have a damn good costume for the reboot NICE JOB .

I like the concept shared in your blog. I think its necessary to have a new look of the spiderman's costume for the coming movie.
